New training is now available from the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia: Advancing practice in the supply and dispensing of nicotine vaping products: Case studies.
This module (module 3) builds on the foundational knowledge introduced in module 1 and the practical tools developed from module 2.
It addresses common areas of uncertainty for pharmacists, including evolving regulations, complex patient scenarios, and opportunities for proactive smoking and vaping cessation strategies. This module brings together updated legislative context, evidence-based frameworks, and interactive case studies to strengthen pharmacists’ clinical decision-making and counselling confidence.
Modules 1 and 2 established a strong foundation by covering product types, access pathways, regulatory frameworks, nicotine dependence assessment, and cessation support strategies.
Module 3 consolidates learning from the previous modules and will:
- Reinforce core regulatory and clinical knowledge through complex cases
- Bridge the gap between theory and practice with end-to-end consultation modelling
- Normalise proactive patient engagement and stigma-free communication
- Integrate the latest policy changes into real-world scenarios.
For details on modules 1 and 2 see the Online Training for Pharmacists page.
