This prospective study examined e-cigarette use and respiratory symptoms in adolescents and young adults. Using four years of prospective data collected from a total of 2094 participants, the study evaluated the associations of e-cigarette use with wheeze, bronchitic symptoms and shortness of breath.
It concluded that e-cigarette use was associated with respiratory symptoms in this cohort, even after accounting for concurrent cigarette and cannabis use and second-hand exposure to e-cigarette, cigarettes and cannabis.
